This recommended practice applies to driving ring type overcenter clutches such as are used in industrial power takeoffs. PURPOSE: This SAE Recommended practice is intended to provide a uniform test procedure for overcenter clutches to determine either the roratice speed at which they will burst or a specified speed they will withstand without burst.
