Omfang

This International Standard specifies graphical symbols for dental equipment; the symbols are to be used on the appropriate piece of equipment and in documents pertaining to dental equipment pieces, for example in instructions for use. The symbols are selected specifically for all kinds of dental equipment. The majority of them are taken from the relevant IEC and ISO International Standards. NOTES 1 This International Standard gives terms in English, French and German. The German language terms have been included et the request of lSO/TC 106 and are published under the responsibility of the member body for Germany (DIN). However, only the terms in the official languages (English and French) are to be considered as ISO terms. 2 This International Standard has been agreed upon by lSO/TC 145, Graphical symbols, which is responsible for the harmonization of all graphical symbols used in International Standards. 3 Combination of symbols is covered in ISO 3461. Symbols Nos. 1 to 9 are predominantly used in technical product documentation (t.p.d. symbols: see ISO 3461).
