This standard describes sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems intended to minimize corrosion of interior submerged surfaces of steel water storage tanks. This standard does not describe automatically or manually controlled impressed current systems. Sec. Purpose The purpose of this standard is to provide the minimum requirements for sacrificial anode cathodic protection systems for the interior submerged surfaces of steel water storage tanks, including design, system components, quality of work, installation, operation, and maintenance.
