Omfang

This recommended practice describes actions a purchaser can take to assure the quality of new valves. It is meant to help procure valves that are required to be in accordance with the standards listed in 1.2, but the purchaser may find that the suggested actions also apply to valves manufactured to other specifications. This recommended practice does not take the place of a manufacturer's quality control or quality assurance program, and it does not release the manufacturer from the responsibility for providing valves of consistent quality that meet API, ASME, and ANSI standards and any additional requirements of the purchase specification. Purpose This section provides requirements for establishing and executing a quality assurance program for the production of new refinery valves.
