Abstract

The present document deals with two different protocols to provide the Short Message Service for PSTNASDN using a User Based Solution (UBS). For both protocols it specifies the protocol layers used to transmit Short Message Information between Short Message Terminal Equipment connected to PSTNASDN and a Short Message Service Centre. It is up to the service provider to choose which protocol to use. It does not speciSl the dial-in systems and the architecture of the short message service centres.
