Abstract

This standard describes the evaluation of structures involved in the treatment, storage, and distribution of water. The evaluation could be performed while the structure is being fabricated and erected or within the warranty period after work is performed. This standard also addresses the minimum qualification level of an evaluation company and its personnel. Types of structures that are addressed in this standard are: • Aldrich units, • carbon-steel bolted tanks, • clarifiers, • clearwells, • composite elevated tanks, • elevated multicolumn water tanks, • elevated single-pedestal steel water tanks, • filter beds, • hydropneumatic tanks, • membrane-covered tanks, and • welded carbon-steel reservoirs and standpipes. Purpose The purpose of this standard is to provide a detailed description of the minimum services together with minimum qualifications and training of the field observation company and its employees during the evaluation of infrastructure related to the treatment, storage, and distribution of both potable water and wastewater.
