Abstract

This document specifies materials, construction, performance and labelling requirements, and test methods for prams, strollers, and their accessories. This document applies to wheeled vehicles, including those that operate in more than one mode, providing one of those modes is designed to transport one or more children in a seated position. In addition to prams and strollers, this document also applies to — (a) convertible vehicles; (b) wagon-type vehicles; and (c) other vehicles that are able to be pushed by a carer in a stroller mode. This document does not apply to — (i) learner tricycles; (ii) wheeled suitcases; and (iii) ride-on toys. NOTE A learner tricycle, unlike a convertible vehicle, has basic features such as — (a) a handle for parental assistance; (b) a handlebar for use by the child to learn to steer with the pedals disengaged; and (c) waist and crotch harness on a seat having a low back support.
