Abstract

This document establishes uniform minimum safety requirements for vehicle hoists. It applies to wheel-supporting, axle-supporting and frame-supporting vehicle hoists and their attachments. This document does not apply to vehicle jacks (refer to AS/NZS 2693), trolley jacks (refer to AS 2615), car stackers or vehicle roll-over equipment. The minimum requirements specified in the document may not be sufficient to meet working conditions. This document does not apply to accessories. NOTE 1 Although this document uses the term “hoist”, several overseas Standards use the term “lift”. NOTE 2 Illustrations of typical vehicle hoists are given in Appendix A.
