Abstract

This section covers the procedure for the determination of sediment in crude oils by membrane filtration. The method has been validated for crude oils with sediments of up to approximately 0.15 mass percent. CAUTION: This standard may involve hazardous materials, operations, and equipment. This standard does not purport to address all of the safety problems associated with its use. It is the responsibility of the user of this standard to consult and establish appropriate safety and health practices and determine the applicability of regulatory limitations prior to use (see Appendix A). The accepted unit of measure for this standard is mass percent.
