Abstract

SCOPE AND PURPOSE These specifications apply to impregnated paper-insulated, metal-sheathed cable of the low and medium pressure self contained liquid filled type, which is to be used for the transmission and distribution of AC electrical energy and designed for operation under liquid pressure. The tests herein apply only to cable with one or more insulating liquid channels, with single lead sheath, with double lead sheath, reinforced lead sheath, aluminum sheath, or with sheath having non-metallic covering over the sheath. The purpose of these specifications is to insure the furnishing of cable of high quality. In these specifications, units are expressed in the English system. For information only, their approximate metric equivalents are included.
