ISO 14092 spesifiserer krav og gir et praktisk rammeverk og veiledning til planlegging av klimatilpasning for lokale myndigheter og lokalsamfunn.
Standarden gir en strukturert, trinnvis tilnærming til planlegging av klimatilpasning, fra forståelse av klimarisiko til utvikling, implementering og kontinuerlig forbedring av tilpasningstiltak.
Standarden er relevant for kommunale og fylkeskommunale myndigheter, men også andre organisasjoner som opererer lokalt eller håndterer lokale klimarisikoer vil kunne ha nytte av standarden.

This document specifies requirements and gives guidance on adaptation planning for local governments and communities.
This document supports local governments and communities in adapting to climate change based on vulnerability, impacts and risk assessments. In working with relevant interested parties, it also supports the setting of priorities, and the development and subsequent updating of an adaptation plan.
