Abstract

This standard specifies requirements for how services shall be designed in order to ensure equal access to such services. The standard comprises public service provision for which universally designed solutions are required for the physical environment surrounding the service provision, including information and communication facilities and personal services, in order to ensure equal access to services for all people. The standard also comprises routines and procedures to ensure that the services are accessible and usable to all people. The facilities described do not include personal assistive technology except for interfaces with such technology, and assistive facilities that are integral to the service such as audio-frequency induction loops, transport chairs at airports, personal assistance and so forth.
