Omfang

This recommended practice contains a user acceptance testing (UAT) methodology and metrics of IEEE SA location services for healthcare (LS-H) locating accuracy. The testing is use-case-driven and agnostic of technology. This document is to be utilized as a guide for the development of a locating accuracy test plan. This recommended practice is built upon the IEEE SA recommended practice of common framework for LS-H. Purpose The purpose of this recommended practice is to improve consumer confidence in the location accuracy capabilities of vendor products. These common methodologies will enable communications between consumers and vendors that will lead to greater adoption and fuel industry innovation. Currently, significant variance exists in the location accuracy testing of LS-H products. Consumers are reliant on vendors to perform testing or need to develop their own testing. Vendors expend time and resources to recreate their own testing. The existing testing is limited to the capabilities of specific vendor products and does not allow comparison. The lack of consistent location accuracy testing often results in a gap between business and technical requirements. Defining these tests will fuel innovation by closing this gap for vendors and consumers, which will ultimately fuel innovation and enable additional use cases.
