The Norwegian Prestandard SN-EN 1994-1:2026 represents a second-generation Eurocode. Prestandards (SN-EN) for second-generation Eurocodes are published to provide the industry with an opportunity to familiarize itself with the content. These prestandards do not replace the first-generation Eurocodes.

In Norway, all second-generation Eurocodes will be published collectively as Norwegian Standards (NS-EN) along with corresponding national annexes. All first-generation Eurocodes with national annexes will remain valid Norwegian standards until then and will be withdrawn simultaneously with the publication of the second-generation Eurocodes.

EN 1994-1-1 gives basic rules for the design of steel-concrete composite structures and supplementary provisions specific to buildings.NOTE Specific rules for bridges are given in EN 1994-2.
