Abstract

This SAE Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) establishes procedures for estimating the weight of parts, weighing actual parts at time of manufacture and maintaining and collecting the weight data. Purpose: This document establishes the basic rule to estimate the weights of the parts by determining the volume from geometry of the part(s) with consistent degree of accuracy; to obtain the actual weight of the parts; and to store, transfer, and update the information pertinent to the weights.
