Abstract

Form This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, flash-welded rings 3.00 inches (76.2 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and 16 square inches (103 cm2) and under in cross-sectional area, and stock of any size for flash-welded rings (see 8.6). Application These products have been used typically for parts requiring high strength and toughness and good creep resistance up to 1000 °F (538 °C), but usage is not limited to such applications. Certain processing procedures and service conditions may cause these products to become subject to stress-corrosion cracking; ARP982 recommends practices to minimize such conditions.
