Abstract

The guidance in this section is intended to apply to IVR applications generally and is, therefore, less specific than that found in ISO 13714. In addition to covering systems that employ touchtone input, the document also provides minimal coverage of systems that employ automated speech recognition as the input mechanism. It should be noted that although the term "caller" is used throughout this section, its use is not limited to the case in which the individual initiates the dialog with the IVR system by calling it. These guidelines also apply to any called party who interacts with the IVR system because of initiation by the IVR system itself (e.g., some telemarketing applications).
