Abstract

This International Standard specifies a method for the determination of the sulphated total ash and the sulphated water-insouble ash of leather. The method is applicable to all types of leather. The determination may be inaccurate by the extent to which the leather contains organo-metallic compounds, for example silicone (see note 1 in 8.1).
