Abstract

This document specifies a gravimetric method for the determination of the hydrocarbon content in solid waste. It is applicable to hydrocarbon content greater than 0,5 % (m/m) on dry matter basis. This method does not permit to provide qualitative information on the nature and the source of the hydrocarbons. NOTE Aqueous liquid waste samples can be analysed in accordance with prEN ISO 9377 1 or the procedure specified in Annex B.
