Abstract

Specifies the physical and magnetic characteristics and provides a format and recording method, thus allowing, together with ISO 1001, full data interchange by means of such magnetic tape cartridges. Annexes A to E describe: measurement of light transmittance of tape and leaders, measurement of bit shift, representation of 8-bit bytes by 10-bit patterns, recommendations for transportation, and inhibitor tape.
